"Rent Seeker and Ingrate": Wike Unleashes Scathing Attack on Ex-Governor Odili

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory and immediate past Governor of Rivers State, has launched a scathing attack on former Governor Peter Odili, labeling him a "rent seeker" and an "ingrate."

The verbal onslaught stems from Odili's recent remark that current Governor Siminalayi Fubara stopped Wike from turning Rivers State into his personal estate. Wike, however, insists that Odili is the one who has exploited Rivers State for personal gain.

Speaking at a Special Thanksgiving Service in Port Harcourt, Wike recounted how he had empowered Odili and his family during his tenure as governor. He revealed that he built a house for Odili and appointed his family members to key positions in the state government.

Wike argued that Odili's actions are a classic case of hypocrisy, given his previous praise for Wike's governance. Odili had reportedly stated that Wike surpassed the records of all past governors in Rivers State. Now, he is praising Fubara, who has only been in office for less than a year, claiming he has beaten the records of all past governors.

Wike questioned Odili's credibility as an elder statesman, saying he has reduced himself to a laughing stock. He criticized Odili's lack of achievements during his eight-year tenure as governor and his failed presidential bid.
